So this one genuinely confuses me. Here’s what Paul says about the long hair hippy look
1 Corinthians 11:14
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
But when you guys decide to paint Jesus you get something like this:
I picked that one because it’s the exact one that hung in the church I went to as a kid. It popped out at me and brought back a lot of memories of shear boredom. But I could have picked practically any picture of the guy and it would be the same. He always has hair that would have fit right in at Woodstock.
I don’t get it…Paul says that you should be ashamed of it. This is something you learn from nature. But yet, there it is. Christians have this image of God with the same long hair.
But that’s not even the part that I consider really asinine. That’s just one of the contradictions that you guys say doesn’t exist. It especially contradicts the whole Sampson thing, where God wants just the opposite.
What really gets me, is why the hell would an omnipotent being capable of creating 125 billion galaxies with trillions of stars each, give a rat’s ass what our hair was like?
